Vacation is over...

Feliz navidad and Happy New Year!

Harmony and I
My heart...
Two weeks off are the best! I slept in, went to bed really late, ate, drank, wore pajamas for 24 hours straight, showered when I wanted, dressed when I wanted and if I wanted, played with my kids, watched movies, and made videos with my kids. I blogged, "Facebooked", and "Instagramed", and Tweeted about all of them. I listened to music, danced, sang, and blogged some more. I shopped, traveled, and shopped some more. I rode a horse, and fell off a horse. I registered for my LAST semester of classes!!!
Pinterest recipes...
cookies, cakes, coquito...
I made coquito, flan, 200,000 cookies, a snow globe cake and new Pinterest recipes that turned out very yummy! I house hunted for the perfect house... That one I'm still working on... I spent time with family, new friends, old friend and met Harmony for the first time (that was the BEST!). I wore short sleeves and no jacket one day and winter boots with long johns the next. I cried, I laughed, I argued and I agreed to disagree with some. I spoke my mind, as always, and pissed some people off (what's new?)... But I'm OK with that. New year, new state of mind (although I've never really worried about what other people think...).

But... I didn't miss the 4:00AM alarm going off, the 4:30 and 5:00 AM alarms as well... the cold leather seats for the first 10 minutes of my 20 minute commute... Driving to work int he dark... Driving home in the dark... Not seeing the sun unless it's through my classroom window... the whining about homework, classwork, do nows, journal entries, quizzes, presentations, boys, girls, cold, warmth, scarves, and lunch. I miss the 2 minute interruptions during a lecture to tell the students    my new story.
Remix and I...
I do miss the smiles and the genuine "good mornings". I miss our early morning conversations about boys, girls, love, and high school BS (as they call it). I miss their laughs, their struggles and their ability to go from happy to ticked off in 1.5 seconds or less. I miss their quirky and sometimes insane sense of humor. I miss the "Buenos dias, Señora", "¿Como está?". I miss the midday visits form old and new students. I miss running around trying to find my clicker, the Powerpoint that won't load and the worksheet I copied but now have misplaced, all while they are conversing about the party they went to the night before. I miss them... I miss them a lot!

So, as my vacation comes to a close and I say goodbye to my pi's and permanent coffee drip, I embrace saying Hola to my students and finishing off this semester with them in full throttle! So, Señora's classes, LET'S DO THIS!!!!  ¡Hasta mañana, chicos!
Sillyness!
